Άρθρο 7

Η Συμφωνία δύναται να τροποποιηθεί με αμοιβαία συγκατάθεση. Για την οποιαδήποτε τροποποίηση της Συμφωνίας θα ακολουθείται η διαδικασία της θέσης της Συμφωνίας σε ισχύ.

Η ισχύς της παρούσας Συμφωνίας παρατείνεται αυτόματα για μία πρόσθετη περίοδο πέντε (5) ετών από την ημερομηνία λήξης, εκτός αν καταγγελθεί από ένα από τα Συμβαλλόμενα Μέρη. Για την καταγγελία απαιτείται η αποστολή, τουλάχιστον έξι (6) μήνες ενωρίτερα, έγγραφης δήλωσης του ενδιαφερόμενου Μέρους προς το άλλο Μέρος σχετικά με τη βούληση του να καταγγείλει τη Συμφωνία. Παρά τη λήξη της Συμφωνίας, οι δραστηριότητες που βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη θα συνεχίζονται μέχρι να ολοκληρωθούν.

Λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις διεθνείς της υποχρεώσεις, η Ελληνική Δημοκρατία, κατά την εφαρμογή της παρούσας Συμφωνίας, θα τηρεί τις δεσμεύσεις που προκύπτουν από την ιδιότητά της ως Μέλους της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

Σε πιστοποίηση των ανωτέρω, οι υπογραφόμενοι, όντας δεόντως εξουσιοδοτημένοι από τις Κυβερνήσεις των χωρών τους, υπέγραψαν τη Συμφωνία.

Έγινε στην Τεχεράνη, στις 1.5.1999, σε δύο πρωτότυπα, στην ελληνική, στην ιρανική και στην αγγλική γλώσσα, ίδιας ισχύος. Σε περίπτωση διαφωνίας ως προς την ερμηνεία υπερισχύει το αγγλικό κείμενο.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN

THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC AND THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE OF THE

ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN FOR ECONOMIC, SCIEMTFIC, AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF AGRICULTURE

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Hellenic Republic and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran (herein after referred as the Contracting Parties).

Desiring to implement the Agreed Minutes, signed in Tehran, on June 4, 1987, between the Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Desiring to develop and to promote the economic, scientific and technical cooperation in She field of agriculture.

Considering that the development and strengthening of such a cooperation shall be of mutual benefit to both countries.

Considering that the Hellenic Republic, being a member state of the European Union, is obliged to observe and to act in conformity with the European Union's legislation.

Have agreed on the following:

Article 1

Cooperation in the field of agriculture will include, indicatively, the following sectors:

• crop production, including fruit and vegetable production and processing,

• livestock and poultry production,

• feedingstuff production and processing,

• post-harvest treatment and food processing industry (marketing),

• agricultural research,

• extension and training services,

• storage of agricultural product,

• bio-technology,

• plant phyto-sanitary control,

• veterinary services,

• land management and cartography,

• mechanization of agriculture, '•viand reclamation,

·» conservation of natural resources and of the environment,

• - fish culture and marketing,

' · joint agricultural projects on micro propagation of fruit trees, particularly olive and walnut,

• joint projects on rural women's activities extension,

• grape production and processing and marketing,

• olive production and processing technologies,

• cheese production technology,

• exchangeof information on Mediterranean forests management,

• exchangeof seeds,

• training of Iranian experts in Chania center on forest non-wood products utilization.

Article 2

Cooperation in the field of agriculture shall be implemented through:

a) Exchange of scientific and technical information and documentation,

b) Exchange of genetic and biological materials,

c) Exchange of information on developments in scientific research,

d) Exchange of visits of experts and consultants,

e) Organization of training programs, seminars, conferences, and meetings in either of the two countries,

f) Trilateral cooperation (with other countries, the European Union, and/or international organizations) to facilitate the economic reform and to develop and to implement regional projects, aiming at the improvement of the production and marketing systems,

g) Encouragement of joint ventures between the cooperative and private sectors of both countries, including ventures in the field of input production and marketing.

Article 3

The Contracting Parties have agreed on the establishment of a Joint Hellenic - Iranian Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture. This Committee will be composed by representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture and, if applicable, by delegates of cooperative and private agencies from both countries. The Joint Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture will be operating within the framework of the Joint Commission provided for in the Agreement between the Government of the Hellenic Republic and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. The Joint Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture shdr^jnet periodically and alternately in Athens and in Teheran, at dates that wj£^e^t^jg^ each time through diplomatic channels.

Article 4

The Joint Committee will be responsible for

• facilitating the implementation of the present Agreement,

• providing solutions to problems likely to arise in the implementation process,.

• reviewing the developments taking place in the interim of two of its sessions,

• examining and approving proposals for cooperation in specific areas of the sectors of cooperation, such as those stated indicatively in article I,

• setting guidelines and priorities for the development to be attained until the next session.

If deemed necessary, the Joint Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture may establish Sub-Committees for a more effective and facile implementation of its duties.

Article 5

Each Contracting Party will bear the expenses arising from its participation in the implementation of the present Agreement.

The Contrasting Parties shall explore the possibilities to ensure the availability of financial resources from the European Union and/or international organizations and funding agencies.

The financial funding undertaken by the Contracting Parties will be subject to the availability of the financial resources of both sides.

The activities undertaken in the framework of the Official Bilateral Development Assistance/Cooperation Program shall be financed by the Hellenic Party. The recipient Party has to be informed about the visits one month prior to the arrival.

Article 6

The present Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the latest of the Diplomatic Notes, by which the Contracting Parties notify each other, in writing, through diplomatic channels that their internal legal requirements for enforcing and activating the Agreement have been complied with and shall remain valid for a period ortive (5) years.

Article 7

The Agreement may be modified by mutual consent. Any amendment to or modification of the Agreement shall follow the procedures of the entering of the Agreement into force.

The present Agreement will be extended automatically for an additional five-year period at the expiration date, unless terminated at an earlier date by either of the Contracting Parties. The pre-expiration date termination procedure requires that a written statement of a Party's intention to terrninate the Agreement be sent to the other Party at least six (6) months in advance. Notwithstanding the termination of the Agreement, the activities already in progress shall continue until implemented.

Taking into account its international obligations, the Hellenic Republic, in applying the present Agreement, shall respect the obligations arising from its membership to the European Union.

IN WITNESS THEROF, the Undersigned, being duly authorized thereto by ^the Governments of their respective countries have hereto signed the Agreement.

Concluded in Tehran, on V · ϋ . 1999 in two original copies, in

Hellenic, in Iranian and in the English language, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence in interpretation, the English text shall prevail.

Άρθρο δεύτερο

Η ισχύς του παρόντος νόμου αρχίζει από τη δημοσίευση του στην Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως και της Συμφωνίας που κυρώνεται από την πλήρωση των προϋποθέσεων του άρθρου 6 αυτής.

Παραγγέλλομε τη δημοσίευση του παρόντος στην Εφημερίδα της Κυβερνήσεως και την εκτέλεσή του ως Νόμου του Κράτους.

* Οι συνδρομές του εσωτερικού προπληρώνονται στα Δημόσια Ταμεία που δίνουν αποδεικτικό είσπραξης (διπλότυπο) το οποίο με τη φροντίδα του ενδιαφερομένου πρέπει να στέλνεται στην Υπηρεσία του Εθνικού Τυπογραφείου.

* Οι συνδρομές του εξωτερικού επιβαρύνονται με το διπλάσιο των ανωτέρω τιμών.

* Η πληρωμή του υπέρ ΤΑΠΕΤ ποσοστού που αντιστοιχεί σε συνδρομές, εισπράττεται από τα Δημόσια Ταμεία.

* Οι συνδρομητές του εξωτερικού μπορούν να στέλνουν το ποσό του ΤΑΠΕΤ μαζί με το ποσό της συνδρομής.

* Οι Νομαρχιακές Αυτοδιοικήσεις, οι Δήμοι, οι Κοινότητες ως και οι επιχειρήσεις αυτών πληρώνουν το μισό χρηματικό ποσό της συνδρομής και ολόκληρο το ποσό υπέρ του ΤΑΠΕΤ.

* Η συνδρομή ισχύει για ένα χρόνο, που αρχίζει την 1η Ιανουαρίου και λήγει την 31η Δεκεμβρίου του ίδιου χρόνου. Δεν εγγράφονται συνδρομητές για μικρότερο χρονικό διάστημα.

* Η εγγραφή ή ανανέωση της συνδρομής πραγματοποιείται το αργότερο μέχρι τον Μάρτιο κάθε έτους.

* Αντίγραφα διπλοτύπων, ταχυδρομικές επιταγές και χρηματικά γραμμάτια δεν γίνονται δεκτά.

Οι υπηρεσίες εξυπηρέτησης των πολιτών λειτουργούν καθημερινά από 08.00' έως 13.00'
